Let's get started!

You will need 4 1/2 yards of #9 (that means it's 1 1/2 inches wide) floral ribbon (Floral ribbon is extremely affordable, so it's a good choice for this type of bow.)

Scissors

Rubberband (not too big)



Measure 14 inches of ribbon and make a circle with your 14 inches. Keep wrapping the ribbon around and around the original 14 inches. Grasp the ribbon in the middle (see picture)

Fold your ribbon shape in half

Crease the ribbons by folding and then cut "V" shapes on either side, leaving a bit of ribbon down the middle.

Now take your rubber band and gently wrap the rubber band around the middle.

You can now, if you wish, cover the rubberband with a piece of the same ribbon you used for the bow. Simply fold it half and tie around the middle of the bow.

Once you have secured this ribbon you will open the bow loops by pulling them out from the inside of the loops. Do one side then the other, alternating pulling them toward you then away from you. Once all of the loops have been pulled out from inside the jumble of loops just mess with the bow till it looks the way YOU like.

And do yourself a favor. Don't worry about perfect. After making thousands of bows, anywhere from an inch big (yes, thats right, I said an inch) to 20 inches big, each bow has it's own quirkiness, just like people. They are not always 100% perfect, but they are always beautiful, so go easy on yourself. This takes a bit of practice, but you will get it.

So off you go to make your bows!
